There will be donation buckets in all three schools for the Lloyd family. The buckets are in the high school office, middle school teacher's lounge, and elementary office. Tyler and Maggie Lloyd's youngest son, Parker, was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and is in need of a bone marrow transplant. Parker will be spending a good part of the next year in the hospital. Maggie is a Sibley-Ocheyedan alumni and Tyler was a teacher and coach in our district for several years. Donations will help their future medical expenses.
The Sibley-Ocheyedan Community School District has introduced HP Chromebooks as replacement machines for the original Apple MacBooks as part of the ongoing 1:1 Laptop Learning Initiative. SOCSD is a Google Apps for Education School District and the HP Chromebooks use the Google Chrome operating system, so it is a perfect fit for our student technology program. The Chrome operating system is a very lightweight, fast operating system that allows a student to turn on the machine, login, and have the operating system ready to use in less . . .
